The Office of the Accountant General
(A&E) – II, Madhya Pradesh, which is a part of
the Audit & Accounts Department functions under
the Comptroller & Auditor General of India. In
accordance with the Article 149 of the Constitution
of India read with section 10 of the Comptroller&Auditor General of India (Duties,
Powers & Conditions
of Service) Act, 1971 the Accountant General (A&E)
II MP is responsible for maintenance of GPF accounts
of all the employees of the State Government of Madhya
Pradesh except the employees of Public Works Department,
Pubic Health Engineering, Water Resources and Madhya
Pradesh Secretariats departments whose GPF Accounts
are being maintained by the Bhopal branch of the OFFICE
OF THE ACCOUNTANT GENERAL (A&E)- I MP Gwalior.
This office is also responsible for authorization
of pensionary benefits to dignitaries like honourable
judges of High Court, All India Service Officers,
Lok Aayukt, Members of State Public Service Commission,
Divisional Accountants, Freedom fighters and Ex-members
of State Legislature. Compilation of State Pension
Accounts is also done by this office.
The Office of the Accountant General (Accounts &
Entitlements)-II, Madhya Pradesh, Gwalior came into
existence in its present form in May1985. It is housed
in the Lekha Bhawan situated at Jhansi Road in Gwalior
along with the Office of Accountant General (A&E)-I,
M.P., Gwalior.
Major functions of the office
The Office of Accountant General (A&E) II, M.P.,
Gwalior is entrusted with the following main functions
• Maintenance of General / Contributory
Provident Fund accounts in respect of All India Services
officers and employees of state government departments
except Public Works, Water Resources, Public Health
Engineering and Secretariat Services departments.
• Authorization of pensionary benefits
in respect of Hon’ble Judges of High Court, All India
Service Officers, Lok Ayukt, Members of State Public
Service Commission, State Administrative Tribunal,
Divisional Accountants, Freedom Fighters and Ex-members
of State Legislature etc.
• Compilation of State Pension Accounts.
